Old Kai's Missing Cannabis

Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

Jan 4, 2017 -- On Tuesday, supporters of Old Kai Logistics packed the Board of Supervisors chambers to express their dismay about the unknown fate of 1,875 pounds of cannabis.  Old Kai is a county-licensed cannabis distribution company.

The Friday before Christmas, CHP pulled over an Old Kai driver and cited him for unlawful possession and transport of marijuana for sale.

The cannabis was then seized and is rumored to have been destroyed, though the chain of custody has not yet been established. Law enforcement agencies have not responded to requests for clarification on where the cannabis is and if it has in fact been destroyed.

In this story, we'll hear from one of the founders of Old Kai, the driver who was cited, a county supervisor, and a retired narcotics officer.
