Ukiah City Council Candidates at the October Forum
Alicia Bales

On September 26, The Mendocino Women’s Political Coalition, American Association of University Women and the Mendocino Voice Newspaper co-sponsored a Ukiah City Council Candidates Forum. As part of KZYX’s local election coverage, we broadcast an hour long excerpt of the forum.

There are five candidates running to fill three seats on the Ukiah City Council: Incumbents Juan Orozco, Mari Rodin and Jim Brown are all running to keep the seats they now occupy. And challengers Susan Sher and Thao Phi are newcomers running to replace them.

The moderator of the forum is Wendy De Witt. The Candidates Forum lasted almost 90 minutes, and began with opening statements and questions from the event organizers, and then opened up for questions from the audience. This excerpt is about 55 minutes long, covering a number of topics. You can find video of the entire forum, including discussions of the local ballot measures, at the Mendocino Voice Youtube page. We’ll also post this and our other local election coverage at our website, kzyx.org.
