On Friday, September 13th, Grace Hudson Elementary School in Ukiah welcomed legendary labor leader and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta. The students were celebrating a new mural at their school by artist Lonnie Lopez that features Huerta, who was a co-founder along wtih Cesar Chavez of the United Farm Workers. Hundreds of cheering students from kindergarten through middle school gathered in the gymnasium with signs and songs to hear Dolores Huerta speak.
