Jake Martin-Wagner

Production Director

As the Production Director, Jake Martin-Wagner strives to deepen aural enjoyment and increase the pleasure of living in a pluralistic society by coordinating and developing all activities related to the KZYX Underwriting and Music Department. He works directly with eclectic volunteer programmers,  and recruits programmers to cultivate diverse music offerings. Jake maintains and updates the music library, will oversee the implementation of the digitalization of the KZYX music library, and serves as the liaison between the radio station and promoters, musical artists, listeners, and record labels. Additionally, Jake coordinates with the KZYX Sponsorship Management Representatives to establish underwriting for the station. Jake is also the co-host of Under the Radar, a weekly rock music program featuring new releases from emerging and established artists, and underappreciated gems that exude nostalgia and reflection.

Jake was born and raised in sylvan isolation on the sea-blown shores of Fort Bragg. He earned BA’s in Philosophy and Religious Studies from San Francisco State University, before spiraling further down the rabbit hole to obtain his MA in Philosophy from his alma mater. Jake’s experiences with agriculture, culinary arts, emergency services, music, teaching and traveling have imbued him with calm, discipline, humility, patience, and resilience in the face of stagnation and human error. He is not only familiar with serving as a jack of all trades, but sincerely enjoys it, and reveres environments where change is a constant and no two moments are identical.

KZYX is hosting an Open House in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the station!

Local astrologer Elaine Kalantarian will talk with General Manager Marty Durlin about KZYX's horoscope, followed by audio and music from the past 30 years until 11:00 A.M.

KZYX Staff and Board Members will be on hand, and you can pay your pledge and pick up your thank you gift. So if you have time and you're in the neighborhood, join us, and thank you to everyone who makes KZYX & Z possible!

Come imbibe in cake, coffee and general merriment!
