Judi Bari exhibit opens at Willits museum, including bombed car and public talks

judi_t-shirt.jpeg

It's been more than 31 years since Earth First! forest activist Judi Bari was car-bombed in Oakland, leaving her with severe injuries. Bari, who died in 1997, willed her twisted, ruined car to the Mendocino County Museum in Willits, and last week the museum opened an exhibit titled The Bombing of Judi Bari: 30 Years Later, Mendocino County Remembers. The exhibit features the car and a number of artifacts, as well as public talks and a concert. In this report, Bari's organizing partner Darryl Cherney remembers the day of the bombing, and museum curator Karen Mattson discusses the exhibit.

Visit www.mendocinocounty.org/museum for more information about the exhibit, which runs through October 24.
