Temporary cannabis tax relief proposal heading for Board of Supervisors

At their regularly scheduled meeting on March 14, the Board of Supervisors will take up cannabis issues, including a proposal by Supervisor Maureen Mulheren from last week’s General Government meeting.

As cannabis farmers struggle with taxes, deadlines, and fees, Supervisor Maureen Mulheren suggested slashing the business tax, offering an amnesty program, and creating a payment plan for growers who have been deprioritized, or sent to the back of the line for processing, due to unpaid taxes.
