Repairs May Discolor Fort Bragg Tap Water, City Says Safe

file photo

If you live in Fort Bragg and notice slightly discolored water in your household next week, don't worry it is still safe to drink, according to a news release issued by the City of Fort Bragg Tuesday.

City Crews will be cleaning and inspecting water lines in various streets on Monday, March 27 through Friday, March 31 between the hours of 7am to 4pm.

According to the release, lines are flushed and cleaned to maintain the quality of the water lines, to inspect fire hydrants, and to maintain water pressure. The flushing may cause a slight discoloration of the water in homes, which remains safe to drink. If you experience discoloration of your water, the city advises you to run COLD water from the tap for a couple minutes or until the water runs clear.
