In Memory of Michael Kisslinger

Michael Kisslinger, former programmer and contractor for KZYX, passed away recently. There will be a memorial held in Todd Grove Park in Ukiah on Thursday, July 23rd at 6:00PM. He was a good friend to this station and to a great many people in the county.  He will be greatly missed.  We have been told that in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Community Foundation in his memory.  Follow this link to his obituary.  

The Board's Hiring Committee meeting has been postponed until Thursday, August 6th at 6:00PM in Ukiah location TBD.

Cal Winslow is a Fellow in Environmental History at the University of California, Berkeley and is Director of the Mendocino Institute. His was trained at Antioch College and Warwick University where he studied under the direction of the late Edward Thompson. His latest book is E.P. Thompson and the Making of the New Left (Monthly Review, 2014). He is a co-author of the re-released Albion's Fatal Tree (Verso 2011). He is an editor of Rebel Rank and File, Labor Militancy and Revolt from below During the Long 1970s (Verso, 2010) and the author of Labor’s Civil War in California (PM Press 2010). He is an editor with Iain Boal, Janferie Stone and Michael Watts of West of Eden, Communes and Utopia in Northern California (PM Press, 2012). He lives with his family on the Mendocino Coast of California. He has four children: Jessie, Samantha, Rosie and Matthew. He and his wife, Faith Simon, a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in pediatrics, are founding members of Mendocino Parents for Peace and are associated with the Bay Area group Retort.
