Thanks to everyone who helped us raise nearly $81,000 during our Fall Pledge Drive!

It was a real team effort, with literally hundreds of people pitching in to keep up the momentum. Whether you pledged your financial support, made on-air appeals, answered phones, donated food, time, or thank-you gifts, YOU MADE IT HAPPEN!

Our goal was $120,000 and it was based on real needs. While we didn't get there, we all worked together in an upbeat way to express our gratitude to the community that sustains us. We made tremendous strides towards keeping KZYX moving forward in its mission of listener service. You have once again proven your commitment to keeping local public radio alive and well. Thank you!

As some of you may know, today is my last day as the news man for KZYX. I have had a change to meet a lot of terrific people in Mendocino and have enjoyed getting to know how the county and its towns work.

Doing the news on a station like KZYX had always been my dream and now that its been fulfilled. After 18 months, I've decided to return to retirement. I'm being replaced by a terrific couple of news people who will be bringing you what you've been calling for - a longer form news, - instead of the four and five minutes I've been doing. The news will continue as twelve minutes at 6 pm with a repeat at 6:48 am.

The new news team will be Michael Kisslinger, who ably replaced me in September when I was on vacation, and Sheri Quinn, a fifteen year veteran of public radio in Utah, who will alternate days giving two new voices to people's concerns throughout the county.

I'll still be hosting Mendo Matters starting at 9 am January 30th.

I think these changes will be good for KZYX and the community and I hope to hear from all of you when I return.

Happy Holidays!

Paul Lambert

MCPB Board of Directors

The next meeting of KZYX’s Board of Directors will take place on Monday, November 7th at 6 pm in the Conference Room at the Travelodge, located at 1720 North State Street, in Ukiah California. When our community participates by attending open meetings, the station benefits. These meetings allow time for public comment, and our Board always appreciates hearing from our members.
