Benefit Concert and Community Supper at Caspar
Oak & Thorn Presents: Litha, a terrific Scottish/Irish/German folk group featuring Aaron Jones (of the great Scottish band Old Blind Dogs) with Claire Mann, Jurgen Treyes, and Gudrun Walther; playing at the Caspar Community Center on Friday April 19.
The Caspar Community will serve dinner and drinks beginning at 6:00, and the concert begins at 7:30. You can look forward to a night of music and merriment, beginning with another marvelous community dinner prepared by Dalen and her amazing crew. The menu features House-made Old Mill Farm lamb and Covelo pork sausages, or Savory vegetable strudel, both served with red cabbage, pickled eggs and potatoes. For dessert, you can select either Gingerbread served with ginger whipped cream, or Rhubarb crumble served with whipped cream. All except the Strudel is gluten-free. Beer and wine will also be available.
Litha are an equally strong song- and tune-band. With two fantastic lead singers, four part harmonies, fiery fiddles, box and flute and a rhythm section that has been referred to as "the dream team", this quartet will amaze and entertain you with their unique mix of Scottish, Irish, and German folk music. They are very well-known in Europe and have played many of the major festivals; this is their first West Coast US tour and we feel fortunate to have them here!
The concert is a benefit for KZYX. Tickets are available online at BrownPaperTickets.com, or locally at Out of This World, Tangents, or Harvest Market (FB store).
The dinner and drinks are by and for the benefit of Caspar Community Center and will be first come, first served.
Hope to see you there!
